1. when retrieving a sane snapshot, there's no need to download additional stuff 2. check the /etc/sane.d/dll.conf if the plustek backend is enabled 3. send the debug output, i.e. export SANE_DEBUG_PLUSTEK=20 ; scanimage -L Gerhard
