Dear Xsane, On two different PCs running Ubuntu 7.0.4, Xsane does not start the Canon LIDE30 scanner. Xsane 0.991 reports N124U/LiDE30-002 on the title; it scans a black image but the scanner does not light up or move the lamp. I have tried two scanners with no luck. Kernel version is 2.6.20-15-124-386. As a new Linux user I do not possess the knowledge to fix this problem. If you can help this would be great. Regards Gord Coverley June 8 2007
