Hi again ! > beka@beka-desktop:~$ lsscsi --hosts > [1] usb-storage > [2] aic7xxx > beka@beka-desktop:~$ lsscsi > [1:0:0:0] disk EPSON Stylus Storage 1.00 /dev/sda > beka@beka-desktop:~$
It does look as if I was knocking the wrong bush here.... So it seems my scanner is not recognized by the system atm. Here is what I have observed: When the scanner is on, and I plug the scsi cable which is attached to the running computer into it, it immediately goes off, the power light goes off and its completely dead. When I unplug it it comes back to live. Also, as I said before, if I rescan the scsi devices by unloading/loading the aic7xxx module i get thousands of these > [4295901.633000] scsi2: Someone reset channel A > [4295901.639000] scsi2: Someone reset channel A > [4295901.645000] scsi2: Someone reset channel A > [4295901.651000] scsi2: Someone reset channel A > [4295901.657000] scsi2: Someone reset channel A > [4295901.663000] scsi2: Someone reset channel A messages in dmesg and the system seems to hang for several minutes. After that it works again. The same happens when I reboot the computer with the scanner attached. It pauses for several minutes during the boot process. So it really looks like its a problem with my SCSI AHA 2940 and the Scanner not talking correctly to each other. Now, the scanner is on SCSI-id 2 and has an internal terminator. Any pointers where to look for help ? Thanks, Karl Kashofer Am Montag, 20.
