Unfortunately, the HP ScanJet IIc does not indentify itself as a scanner but rather as a SCSI processor (type 3). The scanner works very nice with the hp driver in sane (i'm using this device for more than 10 years. when sane came out, it was working without ever having any problem from the very first day on.
