Does this mean that it does not work when canon.conf contains either only "/dev/sg0" or only "scsi" as I suggested in https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=177492#c7 If it does not work when canon.conf contains only "scsi", I would like to get appropriate debug messages, see http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/sane-devel/2006-August/017475.html I don't have such a scanner. Therefore without your help with debug messages it is not possible for me to get it working out of the box.
