Please apply attached patch for lockdir:

Changelog:
Add --with-lockdir to configure for set path to lock dir
Set PATH_SANE_LOCK_DIR really to lock dir (instead localstatedir)

P.S.
I left default lock dir, but I guess /var/lock/sane is more right 
place for lock files.

I will probably end my experiments with a patch.

Haven't checked that yet. But I don't know if the optics aren't fixed,
that's ~ $100 consumer scanner after all.
