My scanner *used to work some months ago* and now I can't find why it's not working. I'm running a debian testing up to date with a multimedia-low latency kernel. I have copied the ESFW30.BIN file, setup the permissions, etc and it worked wonderfully before.
But now each time that I run xsane it displays: "no device found". Usb is detected at the right place. What am I missing? Can you give me any clue? Thank you Here you have some outputs... marcbcn:/home/marc/conf/scanner# more /etc/sane.d/snapscan.conf #------------------------------ General ----------------------------------- # Change to the fully qualified filename of your firmware file, if # firmware upload is needed by the scanner firmware /usr/lib/sane/firmware/ESFW30.BIN # If not automatically found you may manually specify a device name. # For USB scanners also specify bus=usb, e.g. # /dev/usb/scanner0 bus=usb # For SCSI scanners specify the generic device, e.g. /dev/sg0 on Linux. # /dev/sg0 #--------------------------------------------------------------------------- # No changes should be necessary below this line #--------------------------------------------------------------------------- ... marcbcn:/home/marc/conf/scanner# ./config.sh Script à lancer dès qu'on connecte le scanner Epson perfection 1670 Eric Seigne, le 14/01/2004 pour RyXéo: <eric.seigne at ryxeo.com> Droits avant: -rw-rw-r-- 1 root scanner 57 2005-04-28 23:16 /proc/bus/usb/001/004 Droits après: -rw-rw-r-- 1 root scanner 57 2005-04-28 23:16 /proc/bus/usb/001/004 Changement des droits terminé, vos utilisateurs membres du groupe scanner peuvent maintenant utiliser sane sans problème. marcbcn:/home/marc/conf/scanner# lsusb Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 001 Device 004: ID 04b8:011f Seiko Epson Corp.
