Hi to the ex-sane. I am finding the ammount of time I am spending trying to fix the canoscan FB630U backend is more than scanner functions are worth to me.
I am looking at buying a newer scanner with negative scan capability. (To replace my zero scan capability!) Having been let down by canon's attitude towards linux, I was thinking of buying an Epson. The Perfection 1670 and the 2400 look interesting. It appears that the former is not supported by sane and runs on a different chip set to other Perfection scanners so I'll stike that from the list. Does anyone know if the 2400's neg scanning facility is supported under linux, it is about twice the price of a entry level scanner and I want it to work fully under linux if I am going to pay more for the device. Thanks for any comments, one way or the other. Regards, Peter. -- Using M2, Opera's e-mail client: on Gentoo Linux
