Hi. Thanks. I have tried disconnecting the printer also, trying a new cable and another machine, the same happens all the time. I also tested the scanner on a winxp machine, and it worked fine. Strangly, I have no problems when I use the vuscan software under linux, but of course, I only get $$$'s on the images.. there are no messages on /var/log/messages I did export SANE_DEBUG_SNAPSCAN=128 export SANE_DEBUG_SANEI_USB=128 and then ./xsane &> xsane.log i placed the log at http://www.math.ntnu.no/~hrue/xsane.log.gz the interesting part seems to be [snapscan] usb_read: reading: 0xf0 0x00 0x04 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x0b 0x00 0x00 ...
