As I say on my web site: Only use the software on my page "if you know what you are doing"! The latest version of the EPSON backend is in CVS, and not on my page. So please remove the stuff you got from my site again, and use either the backend 1.0.14 version, or the files from CVS.
I probably should put some stronger words on my pages to discourage downloads even more :-) Karl Heinz On Sep 11, 2004, at 5:37 AM, Adam Bogacki wrote: > Henning, I'm an admirer of 'sane-troubleshoot'. > > Working through it helped me isolate and work through problems > to the point where sane-find-scanner and scanimage -L > work - as root and user - and I can 'scanimage>image.pnm' > successfully ... but xsane tells me 'no devices available'. > > I also installed hotplug which gives user privileges when > the plug goes in. > > One thing I'm not sure of is the correct place to put > the epson backend directory.
