Yes, I compiled 1.0.13 myself with ./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc My system came with xsane 0.89 Funnily enough (on a related note), I saw that xsane is now up to 0.92. So, I downloaded the tarball from www.xsane.org and installed it. The UI is drastically different. The buttons are all flat, there is no KDE theme applied, it looks very pale!
