Hi Robe, Maybe you did not indicate in dll.conf that it should load hp5400 backend= ? edit /usr/local/etc/sane.d/dll.conf or /etc/sane.d/dll.conf=20 and on a new line add : hp5400=20
Note that direct load of backend (e.g. with -d hp5400) has not been teste= d=20 yet. Let us know if it works.
