Hi, Just a little note on how to get it working properly. There is an entry missing in /etc/hotplug/usb.distmap for the Epson 1650 scanner.
Locate the line starting with the following entry (line 125) scanner 0x0003 0x04b8 0x0107 .............................. Now copy this line to the next line and edit to match the product id.
