I don't know anything about Debian, but IIRC the Swing package is not included in Sun's JDK 1.1.x. You have to install a separate swing package or update to at least JDK 1.2.x. Considering that JDK 1.4 is released JDK 1.1 is fairly obsolete anyway. Regards, Oliver
