Welcome to the club. There are some problems with 2.4-kernels and Buslogic cards which may be due to some changes in the kernel or in the Buslogic driver since 2.2. Please watch the sane-devel mailing list to see when a bugfix will be available. You can also browse the mailing list for reports of other people with the same problem.
