i found it ..and got it working . there was a } in xinetd.conf missing at the end. i modified it but i simply had not restarted xinetd.
all works. But still a comment about xinetd the modification i made to the file works. I suggest this to be included in the documentation. ex Add to /etc/xinetd.conf the file following lines: service sane { socket_type = stream server = /usr/sbin/saned protocol = tcp user = root wait = no disable = no } best regards Richard _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
