Hi, As Simon mentioned a couple of days ago, after a couple of months of work, the Brand Spanking New Canon Parallel backend is now ready for testing.
It currently supports "perfectly": * Canon FB330P * Canon FB630P It also might support: * Canon FB[340/640/350/650]P (we've had reports of some issues, but otherwise it might work..) The FBXX0U (USB version) scanners are being investigated by a different team, and appear to work almost completely differently from what we know so far. A patch for sane-backends-1.0.5 is available from our sourceforge site at: http://sourceforge.net/projects/canon-fb330p Notes are: * It uses libieee1284 with a check in configure (this is my first attempt at autoconf, so be gentle if I did something stupid). * Yes, I should make a patch against the cvs version, but I haven't yet * Yes, it does do some fprintf(stderr) instead of DBG().. it's still a work in progress Otherwise I think it prettymuch follows the guidelines. Please test it, and send bug reports to me or Simon. Cheers, Matthew Duggan
