Hello, could somebody please help me. I have a plustec 19200 scanner.
sane-find-scanner gives me the following output: sane-find-scanner: found SCSI scanner " SCAN19200 1.06" at device /dev/scanner sane-find-scanner: found SCSI scanner " SCAN19200 1.06" at device /dev/sg3 sane-find-scanner: found SCSI scanner " SCAN19200 1.06" at device /dev/sgd /dev/sgd and /dev/scanner are symlinked to /dev/sg3 when I run scanimage I get the following output: scanimage: no SANE devices found and in the /var/log/massages the following message appears for all devices (0) - (15): Jan 31 23:25:03 localhost kernel: scanner.c: open_scanner(0): Unable to access minor data I am using RH 7.2, kernel 2.4.9. dmx3191d and scanner module are modload-ed scanimage -V : scanimage (sane-backends) 1.0.7-beta2; backend version 1.0.7 same problem with earlier version cat /proc/scsi/scsi gives following output: Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 03 Lun: 00 Vendor: PLEXTOR Model: CD-ROM PX-40TS Rev: 1.05 Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 04 Lun: 00 Vendor: TOSHIBA Model: CD-ROM XM-6401TA Rev: 1015 Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 05 Lun: 00 Vendor: RICOH Model: CD-R/RW MP7040S Rev: 1.50 Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 06 Lun: 00 Vendor: Model: SCAN19200 Rev: 1.06 Type: Scanner ANSI SCSI revision: 02 I do not know the meaning of "Unable to access minor data". I am sure some small configuration is missing. But no man page or the internet could help me. I hope somebody has an idea.
