Looks suspicous. I just tried with my Athlon 1.4: : cd sane-backends : make distclean : ./configure : time make real 3m27.477s user 2m46.220s sys 0m25.920s My Celeron 366 is slower, but the compilation time is also in the range of minutes. I tried a 486/66 with 8 MB of RAM some month ago. This took hours (if not days) :-) > What can be going wrong? Maybe a slow hard disc? Bye, Henning
