The following is required for my HP4155e to be recognized by scanimage -L diff -r /usr/local/share/examples/sane-backends/sane.d/hp.conf ./hp.conf 10a11,12 > # HP ScanJet 4155e > usb 0x03f0 0x1a53
(This may identify other HP 415x models but that's the one I tested). This scanner has some other issue on my OpeBSD laptop but I won't bother the list with that until I've been able to test it on Linux (can't do so just ATM). The device prints fine under CUPS, and it also scans fine under that Redmond OS.
