Can I read "assuming it had to send" as "it is not sending a summary in some cases" - for example when no check is down? That could explain the behaviour - I would have to work around this, because I need a status mail to see SA is working.
The SMTP logs did not show an attempt, but we can verify this once more with addressing the Exchange nodes instead of the load balancer. If you have access to the logfile of the SMTP server that is being used, can you then see an attempt to send a message (from the SA system)? ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: "Servers Alive Discussion List" <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, August 09, 2011 12:00 PM Subject: AW: [SA-list] Sending status summary mails No entries in the logfile, the summary is scheduled to 5:50: Dienstag, 9. The recipients are different between alerts and the summary, I was trying a distribution list (one SMTP address) instead of a comma separated list, no change. Do they fail often too? Does the logfile of SA show any errors in the status summary sending? -----Original Message----- From: Servers Alive Discussion List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, August 09, 2011 11:01 AM To: Servers Alive Discussion List Subject: [SA-list] Sending status summary mails Hello, we have the issue that sending the status summary mail is working or not, some 50% yes and 50% no, and I cannot see why. Servers Alive! Version 6.2.2279, as we are in transition from Win 2000 (VM) to Win 2003 (hardware) we have 2 different systems, but they both show this effect. The configuration (configuration file and registry entries) were transferred from the old to the new system. The system names and the sender mail-addresses are different. We tried to address our load balancer or the Exchange nodes directly, no difference. The Exchange admins tell me they cannot recognize anything in these cases.
