I did the same a little while back Ralf – your steps should work fine as
you’ve outlined.

Shouldn’t be a problem exporting/importing the reg key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DBU Consulting to 2003

Make any adjustments to file path changes in your config – otherwise you
should be good to go. I reinstalled all the add-on’s and external apps on
my new physical box just to make sure I had the latest and greatest versions.

Subject: [SA-list] From 2000 to 2003 (Windows migration)

Hi,

our next step is to migrate our SA installation from a Windows 2000 Server
virtual machine to a Windows 2003 Server physical installation.

Is there any “best practices” to do so? Our plan up to now is to

· Make a fresh install of SA on the target, including the license

· Copy the complete installation directory to the new machine

Is it safe to take over the complete registry tree of SA?

Forgot something?

Mit freundlichen Grüßen
