The consumer version of Mcafee that I have installed puts the definition in
hklm\software\McAfee\AvEngine\AVDatVersion

It is a binary key. There is also an EngineVersionMajor and an
EngineVersionMinor key in that same path.

Not sure if we can already detect that version

It's looking in the registry under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Network Associates\ePolicy Orchestrator\Application
Plugins\VIRUSCAN8000\DATVersion

and

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Network Associates\ePolicy Orchestrator\Application
Plugins\VIRUSCAN8600\DATVersion

Could you check if you have one of these, and if not if it's maybe something
similar?

I have installed the av com check on a computer running Mcafee AntiVirus Plus
2010. I have set the check to use McAfee in the com check. I get "version on
web (5848) but no info on local version". Any idea how to get this working or
what file the com check is looking for.
