Logging
Let's start with the RRD logging.
All RRD logging is based on the RRD tool. This tool is "responsible" for the
creation of the database, the actual adding to the db and the creation of
graphs based on the data. All RRD loggings are "only" usefull for their
graphs.
There are 3 types:
* roundtrip: logs the time it takes to perform the actual check
* checkresult: logs the result of the actual check (only for
some checktypes)
* updown: 1 for up, 0 for down
The other logging
* debug: logs what SA is doing
* statistical:each status change is logged, with the status the
entry had (and the time it was in that status) and the status is has
* interchange: each cycle we log the current status of an entry
* uptime: per entry per day we log the number of
up/down/maintenance/total cycles

The 2 options are on the latest beta that is on the site (link is NOT yet
correct on the beta page)
YOu can download it from http://beta.woodstone.nu/Soft/salive62.exe
(http://beta.woodstone.nu/Soft/salive62.exe)
I'll update the beta page shortly.
As for the different logging options I'll make a little mail about it :-)

Hmmm.... I guess the answer is that I'm somewhat confused about all the
different logging options.
What I was originally talking about was the RRD UpDown logging (sorry, I didn't
use the correct term), and it would be useful to have a global change option
for that. However, I'm not sure what the differences are between that and the
other logging options (syslog, statistical logging, uptime logging, and
Interchange logging). Can you give us a breakdown of what they all do, and when
you would use them?
Thanks,
Ian

Now that I'm realy looking at it again…
Uptime logging is something that you enable just within the setup, not on a per
entry level. Or are you talking about the RRD updown logging?

Thanks Dirk. While you're at it ;-) any chance you could add global changes to
the Syslog Facility as well?
Cheers,
Ian

Happy new year all.
Is there a way to enable uptime logging for several (or all) entries at once? I
can do it in the changes wizard for the other logging types, but (as far as I
can see) not for Uptime logging.
Cheers,
Ian
