Both the nt-service and the diskspace check are using NetBIOS.
Make sure your Win2008 server accepts Netbios calls.

Subject: [SA-list] Checking diskspace on Windows 2008 (possible Firewall
setting?)

We have recently upgraded one of our servers from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008.
On 2003 we ran the following tests without a problem.

1. Ping
2. Check diskspace c:\ etc.
3. Check various nt services

After upgrading to Server 2008 we have managed to get the ping working by
switching on "File and Printer Sharing (Echo Request - ICMPv4-In)" located in
the Windows Firewall Inbound rules.

Does anyone know which firewall settings to change so that disk space and nt
services checks work?
