Seems that the doc shows that as being HTML template tags, while they are NOT.
For the formulas that you can use you can indeed use
sa_currentresult
sa_previousresult
sa_currenttimeinms
sa_previoustimeinms
Great this is found now, our doc updater is just working on an update of the
doc.

interesting eh?
Other tags do work, like <sa_status> gives me running.
I bet someone's going to tell me that the currentresult tag only works with
certain checks?
