Assuming that the PING check and the mailhost are the same host.
It's not because something works fine at 5:40:44 and also at 5:49:51, that it
also works fine at 5:41:28

Question:  If the email server is up via the checks, why would the
alerting section say it's down when attempting to send an alert? 

Servers alive worked correctly after I rebooted the server and did
chkdsk/f to fix some disk errors.
