Cheers I’m not sure I see the logic but it works now.
Which is all that matters. Thanks a lot. Why not start the GUI from the system tray icon? Would directly invoking the serversalive executable make a difference? And if so did you 'open' the GUI of SA via the system-tray icon or by starting the serversalive.exe file? Dirk Bulinckx. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Servers Alive Discussion List [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Daniel Punton Sent: Thursday, July 05, 2007 2:31 PM To: Servers Alive Discussion List Subject: [SA-list] SA 6 as a local account service doesnt alert Dear All, I am evaluating SA6 and have it set up as a service on local account with desktop interaction. I am logging on remotely on a terminal service connection (or whatever it is called now Winxp pro to w2k3). Using the GUI I can set alerts and save the configuration file (I also have it in setup to load the config) – and it works manually (discovers test problem etc and sends email alerts). But after I log out of the GUI manager or off the terminal service connection SA service not to operate also (even though the service is shown as running when I log on again and even if I have restarted the SA service to acknowledge the changes made through the gui manager). Is there any way of using the gui manager over TS that doesn’t turn off the SA service when you log off the connection – there must be or the application is more or less unusable. I’ve read through the documentation but still am at a loss.
