Hi Steve, Do you use Salive to generate at custom webpage? If so, what I did was to include some code, in my case PHP, that generates how long ago the webpage was updated from Salive. If the file is too old, in my case, older than 30 minutes, the background is changed to a different color and a warning message is added. A second, free version, of Salive monitors the webpage and alerts if the page has the warniong message. I guess it sounds more complicated than it is...if the webpage genreated by Salive#1 is too old, then you are alerted by Salive#2. HTH Gerry

Currently I have my main licenced server on one box (box A) and a free ware licence installed on another box (Box B) Box B, checks the ping and serversalive process every 2 minutes on Box A and vice versa. However, this is not fool-proof as we've just realized our main server has not been alerting for a week. On closer inspection, the process is still running but has hung. I then thought I could use the file properties check and check that the log file has been updated in the last 10 minutes but this log file name changes every month unless I want to use one filename and have a massive log file. Is there a better way of achieving what I want, perhaps something obvious I've missed? Any tips?
