I had not tried the Conda installation before.  That seems to have worked 
for Sage 9.4 and was a lot easier (and dozens of times faster) than 
previous times I have compiled Sage.

However for 9.5 I got the message:
Encountered problems while solving:
  - nothing provides pari >=2.13.3,<3 needed by sage-9.5-hd8ed1ab_0

Sage 9.4 will work fine for now.
