I need to package all the test site applications into one massive PDF, a mildly
tedious affair.
This cannot be an appendix, but should go in "Supplemental Material". But it
should not look like effusive "letters of support." The AMATYC material follows
the guidelines perfectly - just a factual agreement to do something particular.
So I'd like to suggest:
1. Section 3.9 Test Sites, reads pretty well right now. To better explain the
purpose, and why it is a supplement, and why it is not support letters, maybe we
could say,
'To document the feasibility of recruiting test sites, we have included in our
supplemental materials a departmental commitment letter and faculty application
for each of the 24 schools. An "at-a-glance" table summarizes the
characteristics of these programs|schools|institutions|faculty.'
2. I think it best that we do not risk appearing to be gaming the system by
putting the best applications first, where some of the department letters read
like support letters. Vilma - alphabetical, geographical, size, ...? I'll need
to do this before Monday.
3. Characteristics of the summary table? I guess I can put that together, but
need guidance.
Related: Can we say, "We will continue to seek out more institutions with large
populations of under-represented students, especially Native American and
African-American, to complement our success in attracting Hispanic
institutions." (That needs some work.) Point being: we did try already, we had
some success, we are not giving up, nor are we done. The current sentence makes
it sound like an afterthought, like we just realized we have a hole, rather than
a continuing challenge.
