I have no idea how to create an exectuable that would work without Sage being installed. However, if your sysadmin does not like to install Sage then what prevents you from installing Sage by yourself? I.e., there is absolutely no need for root privileges when installing Sage. Just install it somewhere in your home directory. Of course, you *would* need to be root in order to make to make Sage available to all users of the lab. But if you just need it for yourself, then disk space and the presence of build tools (gcc, make etc) are the only limitations.
