Hi all,

I am attempting to set up a Sage server at Cardiff for all of our students
to use as I'll be teaching a new course to all our first year students
which will be making wide use of Sage.

First of all I am very new to all things "server" so I apologise in
advance! I've kind of been handed the keys to this by our IT team so it's
just me I'm afraid :)

Secondly I have looked at previous posts on this forum:

and also the set up instructions by Dan Drake and Jason Grout:

- http://wiki.sagemath.org/SageServer

I just wanted to ask a question before I made my next steps (ie attempting
to follow the above instructions). Here is my current status:

- We have a redhat server setup and running.
- I have installed Sage (5.7 - compiled from source) and it is available to
all users.
- I have created a sageusers group
- I have added myself to that group (and no one else for now)
- I have created a new directory "nbfiles" which I have put in my own
directory
- I have given write access to that directory to all members of the
sageusers group (chgrp sageusers nbfiles && chmod g+w nbfiles)

Also and this wasn't done by myself, I believe that a LAMP stack is setup
and the server is running (see attached screenshot which is the webpage at
the address of the server).

I think (perhaps optimistically) that I'm close but just wanted to check
what needed to be the next step (before I go on and break everything).
There are various instructions that are in the links I pointed to above but
they all seem (to my uneducated eye) to be slightly different (for example
1 doesn't make use of an Apache server bu haproxy) so if someone could
point me in the right direction I would very much appreciate it.

Many thanks for any help you could give,
Vince

PS In case I've not been clear I basically want a sage nb server to run
instead of the screen that you see on the attached screenshot...
