For what it's worth: it works after about 8 minutes.
It might be a corner case for the algorithm itself. From what cursory
reading I did, the algorithm used with flag=0 is supposed to fix
slowness in Gaussian elimination (that runs with flag=1). But this
specific example seems to be the opposite!
