And this has nothing to do with pi: knowing some of the hexadecimal digits of a number does not allow you to find some of the decimal digits. Base conversion requires you to know all the digits from the fraction point to the part you are interested in. (Try it yourself: I have a number N whose hexadecimal expansion is *3A*, where I don't know the * digits.
