Did you get this to work? I'm trying a similar setup, but apart from just looking in the source and changing all the links I can't get it to work.
Maybe we can fix this more permanently by changing all the links to %base_url/home etc, so you can set a base_url and be done with it. I'd be happy to do that if this means we can get it to work.
