OK, I see that sage can identify that a==c. But how do I go from the complicated 'c' to the simple 'a'? Suppose someone gave me 'c'. How can I instruct sage to simplify it until it gives me 'a'? One more question: I learned a lot from the pointer you gave me to the Sage reference manual. Is it available as a PDF somewhere? thanks again robin -- Robin Hankin Uncertainty Analyst hankin.ro...@gmail.com -- To post to this group, send email to sage-support@googlegroups.com To unsubscribe from this group, send email to sage-support+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/sage-support URL: http://www.sagemath.org
