I took a look at this. Here are some thoughts:
* it appears to use EditArea (not CodeMirror). I'm curious what the
rationale for this is, especially since the paper seems to reference
CodeMirror.
* the patch does not include the binary files, so some extra work will
be needed to install things (in particular, it looks like just
installing editarea.
* the authors of the paper have a very good point about us needing line
numbers in the code cells, even if we don't incorporate a code editor at
this point.
