Crtl-Click on the app and you'll get a menu with "Show Package Contents" in it. Go to Contents/Resources and you'll find your sage directory. I feel like there is even a way to get that to open from the app, but that may be in one of the proposed updates to the app Ivan made recently (being held up in some ways by #8473 which is held up by #693) > on an iMac (The same app on my MacBookPro has no problems with 3d graphics).
This suggests strongly that there is something wrong with your Java, doesn't it? Warning, of course, since that is not officially positively reviewed yet. But it might fix your problem.
