Harald is right. This is a typical English flaw made by Germans. I would change it into the following lengthy but hopefully clear explanation: The Knapsack problem is the following: We have a collection of items each having two attributes, a weight (or a volume) and a usefulness. We also have a bag with limited capacity (regarding the overall weight of the items we put in). We now would like to fill the bag in a way that the sum of the usefulness values of the items is at most.
