I actually think that computers are very healthy for mathematicians in that regard. What's the use of a branch of mathematics whose functions don't take user-defined numbers/shapes as their domain??
But given a user-defined set of points and a bunch of topological transformations, I don't see why it shouldn't be possible to do point-set topology with a computer. Is there something I'm missing?
