I think the sage-devel [1] mailing list is a good place for discussing Debian/Ubuntu packaging of Sage. Another relevant mailing list is debian-sage [2]. While there has been progress on packaging Sage for Mandriva and Gentoo, the Debian/Ubuntu packaging is pretty much stagnant for over 6 months now. Support for building on Arch Linux was only recently introduced. I vaguely remember someone recently making an attempt to revive the Debian/Ubuntu packaging. Perhaps that person could comment on this. In any case, we welcome any help to update the Debian/Ubuntu packaging of Sage. In most cases, there are many excellent ideas to implement but few people have the time to implement them. > So I can not run Sage at all. Thanks for any guidance. My only advice here is to compile Sage from source for your platform. Given that the build farm for compiling Sage binaries is rather small, cases where a pre-built binary fail to work for a particular platform is not uncommon. If you want to build Sage from source, please follow the minimal instructions at the Sage website [3].
