First of all, I am impressed by the interest in cvxopt: Apparently there are quiet a lot a people out there, who are interested in a newer version !
To answer Nathann's question, I am using cvxopt for quadratic optimization problems. I also need a more recent version of CVXOPT in order to access MOSEK in a user friendly way. Yet another useful functionality of cvxopt. Apparently some of you guys (Harald, Dima) would be generous enough to provide a SAGE package. This effort would be more than welcome by LOTS of users.
