Hi all, is there any way to get a recent sage version running on my laptop? output of /proc/cpuinfo below, operating system is linux ubuntu 8.04.2.
compiling from source won't work anymore (3.4 was already rather difficult. Or did things improve there?), and the binaries from sagemath for ubuntu 9 something either. It says that some flags are missing (I think three, but I forgot to copy which ones). Deleting flags.txt (or some such) as recommended by ./sage didn't help, ipython just returned "illegal instruction"... Help would be greatly appreciated, Martin processor : 0 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 6 model : 11 model name : Mobile Intel(R) Pentium(R) III CPU - M 1000MHz stepping : 4 cpu MHz : 731.500 cache size : 512 KB fdiv_bug : no hlt_bug : no f00f_bug : no coma_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 2 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 mmx fxsr sse up bogomips : 1463.22 clflush size : 32 --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ To post to this group, send email to sage-support@googlegroups.com To unsubscribe from this group, send email to sage-support-unsubscr...@googlegroups.com For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/sage-support URLs: http://www.sagemath.org -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
