Hi all,

is there any way to get a recent sage version running on my laptop?
output of /proc/cpuinfo below, operating system is linux ubuntu 8.04.2.

compiling from source won't work anymore (3.4 was already rather
difficult. Or did things improve there?), and the binaries from
sagemath for ubuntu 9 something either. It says that some flags are
missing (I think three, but I forgot to copy which ones). Deleting
flags.txt (or some such) as recommended by ./sage didn't help, ipython
just returned "illegal instruction"...

Help would be greatly appreciated,

Martin
