If I force the notebook directory to be on the local file system, this doesn't seem to happen. I suppose that means that I can get around this by moving the notebook directory. But it might be nice if there were another alternative in case someone doesn't have that option (i.e., some way to run the notebook with fewer file accesses). Thanks!
