We don't actually distribute VMWare itself (their license doesn't  
allow it without express permission), you have to go download that  
from their site. Once you do that the Sage VMWare image is just like  
a "document" to the vmware app (though I would imagine one would need  
write permissions, so a read-only media wouldn't work).

The easiest way to casually share Sage with users is probably to  
point them to an online Sage server. The DVD is primarily for people  
who want to install Sage but the download is prohibitive (either a  
slow network, or you're sitting there at a conference and handing off  
a DVD is so much faster than saying "go to this website, look for  
this link..."
