I am running Sage 3.2.3 on Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit on an Intel Core 2 Duo. I have tried a few other plots and anything that directly accesses matplotlib fails with the same error. I'm going to try and reinstall since this is a new issue so something may have gotten corrupted.
