I made an animation this morning. I used a screencast software
(gtk-recordmydesktop), made a screencast where I used the keyboard to
move the slider. Then I opened the movie (in totem) and just captured
frames to png files (easy to do; just press shift-S while the movie is
playing). Then I believe a single "animate" command puts those png
files together into an animated gif.

I don't know if you did it this way, but the nice thing was that I
didn't have to do any image editing or tweaking.

Thanks,

Jason
