I cannot open http://localhost:8000 in firefox on vista.
Anybody who has figured out what needs to be done, could you post the
instructions. Thanks a lot!

I am new to vista, vmware, ... So probably the following questions are
silly AND not all sage specific.

When I opened sage in vmware (by clicking on sage_vmx.vmx file), after
logging in, what I got was a linux bash shell. A readme file suggested
installing emacs with apt-get, so I looked at the sources.list, and to
my surprise, I seem to be running Ubuntu! Does that mean the windows
sage distribution comes with a regular Ubuntu in which I can install
pretty much anything that I have in my normal Ubuntu? How should I
copy a file created in vmware? where is it stored on my machine? can I
access files on C: or other drives? How should I use programs like
xdvi? I tried setting the DISPLAY as in cygwin, but it didn't work.

Thanks,
