I am trying to go through a list of lists of polynomials and compute a Groebner basis for each one, subject to a time constraint. I tried using something like the example at:
http://docs.python.org/lib/node545.html with the signal module, but the alarm didn't seem to interrupt Singular. How can I do a time-limited series of tasks like this? Thanks, M.
